U7

Training for players born in 2007 will begin in March.  If you have a boy who wants to play hurling and football with Mallow GAA please come along to the registration night on 28th February.  We will be looking for coaches, mentors and managers for this group and any parents who wish to get involved please speak to one of our coaches at the registration night.

U8

U8 football training starting back on Sunday morning 2nd of March from 10am – 11am at the Patrician Academy sports gym.

U12

The U12 footballers are up and running for this year’s campaign after a break. Training takes place every Tuesday at 6.30pm on the outdoor astro pitch.  We will play our first league match on 8th March away to Ballincollig. U12 Hurling training is on Thursday nights at 6.30pm on the outdoor astro turf. We would be delighted to see any players from this age group who haven’t played in a while to come along and get training with us again.

U15

The long awaited and much anticipated 2013 (not a typo!) U15 Premier 2 Football Championship will recommence in March.  Mallow are at the semi final stage of this competition so as always check twitter @MalaJuvenileGAA and local media for the fixture.  Meanwhile this year’s U15 football team will play Mitchelstown in Mitchelstown this Saturday at 5pm.  This is sure to be a competitive match so we wish the boys all the best.

U16

The U16 footballers played Midleton in Midleton Community College in the league on Saturday last.  They won on a scoreline of Mallow 1-08 to Midleton 0-07.  Well done to all concerned.

Minor

The minor footballers will play Wolfe Tones (Kanturk) in Kanturk on Sat at 3pm.  Please support if you can.

Mid term Camp

Our dedicated coaches Wayne O Donnell & Esther O Leary and their helpers were kept busy guiding players on the path to glory with their wealth of experience and knowledge over the mid term.  The camp was well attended and everyone enjoyed it.  Thanks to Mallow GAA Complex for the use of the indoor astro turf.  With the weather as changeable as it is at the moment this is an invaluable asset to our younger players and coaches and we are very grateful. We will be holding another camp over Easter so keep an eye out for dates.

Foundation Coaching Course

Great work is being done by the committee this year to ensure that all coaches have at least a foundation course in coaching done and we will be running further courses over the year to improve and standardise coaching across all age groups.  New parents are welcome to attend the next foundation course which takes place this Saturday March 1st in the Complex.  Details are available from Wayne O Donnell on 085-1562189.  Current coaches are encouraged to attend as a refresher for the upcoming year.

Sincere thanks to Paul O Mahony and all at Dano’s SuperValu.  Their continued sponsorship of the Juvenile Club means that we can undertake a continued program of coaching and development.  So we urge all our parents and coaches to support Dano’s SuperValu whenever you can.  Shop local and support our teams!
