Mallow GAA

A big thanks once again to our Hurling and Football sponsors O’Connell’s Ford, Mallow and Maureen’s Pub, O’Brien St. Mallow respectively.

Tomorrow promises to be a great day out with our Intermediate hurlers who take on Watergrashill in Fermoy at 4:45pm. We know that with all our players they’ll give 100% on the day so don’t leave any of them staring over at an empty embankment tomorrow evening. The forecast isn’t great but an old drop of warm water never killed anyone.. There is a Triathlon on in Fermoy so most of the roads are closed,  the GAA club there are advising everyone to leave a little earlier and go the Kildorrery- Mitchelstown road. Any one who goes into Ballyhooly will be re-directed to the mountains, wherever that is.. I’ve seen people get lost going to matches in Killavullen!! So when you hear someone saying they know a short-cut make sure and keep well clear!! There also a strict dress code tomorrow too and only Red and Yellow can be worn inside the gate..
Our U-16 Hurlers are also out in Championship this Sunday against Passage West in Killavullen at 7pm. Please support
Our Senior B Camogie team are out in their next round of Championship on Monday night 19th at 7pm against Fr. O’Neills and the game is fixed for Church Rd, Mahon.. See you there..
Our footballers are out next Sunday against Ballingeary, also in a 4th round tie, and throw in for the game has been moved to 5pm but still the venue is Carrigadrohid.. More on that next week.
Anyone planning forward, should our Footballers and hurlers advance to the Quarter final stages and please god they do the football is down to be played on the 1st September against Nemo Rangers in Mourneabbey and the hurling is down for the 7th September against Kilbrittain in Pairc Ui Rinn.. Fingers crossed
The Eugene Carey U-17 development Inter-County Hurling tournament has now been finalised for Saturday August 31st with over 9 Counties involved in this years games.. As always it’s an honour to host and a fantastic day out for the club.. So dust off your white jackets as Umpires, linesmen and stewards will be needed on the day..
We are in the process of developing a new App for the club which is currently available on this link
https://clubapplive.com/Mallowgaa . We are going to trial it for tomorrows game and next Sunday’s game and then see what people think. Really it’s the way forward now, but go in and see what you think.. If you don’t know what an app is don’t worry just go to the games itself and thats all the info any of us really need…
We are doing a clean up in the town park tomorrow morning at 10am after the tidy towns contacted Ronan Sheehan about the condition it was in. It’s hoped as many as possible come to help. It will take one hour to sweep through it but we need the bodies!! Nothing better than putting your shoulder to the wheel for one hour for your club on Championship day!!
Well done to everyone involved in this years Cul Camp there were over 125 kids up there for the week with all our own coaches and players putting them through their paces… Congrats to ye all..
