Mallow GAA

Thanks to our Football and Hurling Sponsors Maureen’s Pub and O’Connell’s cars!!

It was a good couple of days overall for the club in the week just gone. The Under 16 footballers had another great win, this time, against Glenville and they now find themselves in the quarter final stages of the Fe 16 Football P2 Championship and the club wishes them the very best of luck in that. Their selectors put a lot of time into the lads this year and you reap what you sow!!

The Cailíní of the club also had a great week drawing their first round Senior B Camogie Championship game with Kilbrittain/Timoleague 1-10 a piece on Monday night and some of the same girls were in action on Tuesday night in the Junior ladies football first round Championship tie with Boherbue. Apparently the referee ran out of paper and we also found out how far the digits go up too on the score board in the club with the final score here an unbelievable 11-11 to 1-2. Well done to all involved.
The adult side of the club was more of a mixed bag, involved in two games and only coming out on top in one. The first game was the North Cork Junior A Hurling Championship between Mallow and Newtown. The final score was Mallow 3-9 Newtown 2-14..
The second game was the U21 A Hurling championship and it was high octane stuff for the 60 mins the final score was Mallow 0-21 Kilworth 1-17.

Our Minor Footballers are out tomorrow night Friday 26th against ‘The Barrs’ in a County Quarter final at 7:30pm in Kilbarry.. Please support!!

We now know our dates for the Premier Intermediate Football and Hurling Round 4 games which are, Premier Intermediate Football Championship R4 Mallow V Ballingeary Monday August 4th at 330pm in Carrigadrohid which is of course in the Canovee GAA grounds a few miles outside Macroom on the Coachford side. Our Premier Intermediate Hurlers then are out in force against Pat Heffernan’s Watergrasshill on Sunday 18th August at 330pm in Fermoy.

The Annual Fr. Declan Hennessy memorial Hurling game between Mallow and St. Catherine’s takes place this Saturday 27th July at 7:30pm in Carrigoon. These games are always hugely competitive and enjoyable and everyone is welcome back in the club house afterwards for some refreshments. See you there
