U13 Premier Hurling Championship
Mallow 2-8
Glen Rovers 3-6
Mallow suffered the agony of a one point defeat in this championship clash played at the Delaneys grounds on Sunday Morning last. We played against the strong wind and started brightly to lead 3 points to no score. The Glen gradually got back into the game and scored 1-1 without reply to take the lead .Mallow replied with a Danny Buckley goal only to concede another on the stroke of Half time to trail by one point. We turned to play with the wind and hopes were high that we would secure victory, all through the second half the play swung from end to end and when Trevor Doyle struck for a goal with 5 minutes remaining we were in the driving seat leading by 2 points. The old saying that this is a dangerous lead was never more through when a ball that we had plenty time to clear but failed to do so was finished to the net to put the Glen back in front. Try as hard as we could we failed to get the equalizer and will now turn to the Football Championship. Team and scorers Daithi Heffernan,Gearoid Murphy,Conor o Sullivan,Eoin O Leary,Oisin Moynihan ,Eoin Murphy(0-7),Timothy Mc Namara,John Browne ,Kenneth Mills (0-1),Ciaran Murphy,Matthew Mc Glynn,Steven Duffy, Trevor Doyle (1-0)Danny Buckley(1-0),Thomas Duignan,Subs Eoin Buckley ,Ronan Sheehan Eoin Kenny.
