Minors Double Victory
This year’s Non Exam Minor leagues kicked off this week and we had two victories in our opening fixtures. On a wet and windy Wednesday evening in Glanmire our Footballers had an excellent victory over the home side on a score of 3-12 to 3-7.The following Saturday the Hurlers travelled to Blarney and returned to Mallow with victory secured on a score line of 3-20 to 1-8 well done to all involved.

Our hurlers put up a brave performance when going under to a physically stronger Midleton in Carrigoon on Saturday last. In what was a closely contested game the concession of late goals was the main difference between the sides

U12 Football – Mallow 1-3 Bishopstown 3- 9, Mallow 1-7 Bshopstown 3-7, Mallow 2-7 Blarney 1-0 Mallow 4-7 Blarney 0-2. Mallow u 12 played Bishopstown on Sunday morning last in Bishopstown 21 players travelled we had two very hard games with no subs they had to dig deep to give account of themselves but it wasn’t enough in the end we lost both games but some good lessons were learnt. On Monday night the 14th we played Blarney at home there was good turnout of player 30 in total. the lads on both teams got off to great starts scoring goals very early the lads where well on top for both games with some great points kicked on a windy night well done to all thanks to the parents who turned out to support .

U11 Football/Hurling – Mallow U11 footballers played Ballincollig on Wed 9th at home 23 players togged out for Mallow, We had 2 teams of 10 a side Mallow put up a good fight on the night finished score team 1 Mallow 3-7 Ballincollig 4-6.team 2 Mallow 3-2 Ballincollig 7-5.Well do to all the lads on the night. MALLOW U11 HURLING MATCH THIS SAT 19th AWAY TO KILLEAGH/ITAS MEET IN COMPLEX AT 11am SHARP ALL PLAYERS TO ATTEND MATCH IN KILLEAGH AT 12-30pm.

U10 – Football training Monday night and Hurling Training Thursday night. Next Hurling match is on Saturday 19th v St Vincent’s in St Vincent’s. Last Saturday we played a hurling league match against Erins Own in Caherlag. 20 players travelled on the day and gave a great performance; we won one match and lost the other by narrow margin. Best wishes to Gearoid O Donovan who was injured during hurling match v Erins Own.

Registration – We held our registration night recently where a large number of players registered for the coming year, anyone who has yet to register please contact one of your teams coaches who will give you an application form. All players must register in order to train and play matches.
Dates for your diary –
Annual Daniel Foley Memorial Hurling Tournament will take place this year in Carrigoon on Saturday 26th May @ 3pm with match between Mallow Minors and St Brendan’s Ardfert Minors.
GAA Cul Camp will be held in Mallow from 13th August, application form now available onwww.gaa.ie
