U14 “Feile” Hurling – Mallow 8-6 Aghabullogue 4-8
The old saying “Goals wins matches” was clearly evident in Carrigoon on Saturday last. Mallow who were playing their first match in the competition having received a bye in round one raced into a 3 goal lead in the opening minutes with goals from Paul Lyons and Kevin Taylor. In what was a free flowing game our Mid Cork opponents fought back well with goals of their own to leave Mallow leading at half time by 6 points .The second half was full of fine hurling and every time Aghabullogue came within touching distance the boys kept pulling out more, four more goals two apiece for Kieran Hayes and Kevin Taylor ensured victory. In what was basically a team performance Ruairi ganley, Conor o Flynn and Darragh Moynihan shone in defence with Micheal Healy epitomising all that is good about this team in midfield and in the forward line Paul Lyons and Kevin Taylor led by example. This team’s next outing will be against Midleton in a Quarter final. Team Ruairi Ganley, Seamus Buckley, Conor O Flynn, Eoin O Leary, Liam Daly ,Darragh Moynihan, Ronan Barrett, Kenneth Mills, Kevin Taylor, Ben Slattery,Paul Lyons,Oisin Moynihan,Daithi Heffernan, Kieran Hayes, Micheal Healy, subs Matthew Mc Glynn,Gearoid Murphy, Billy O Malley,Tadgh O Neill.
