Premier U18 Football
Mallow 2-7 Douglas 0-16
Our Premier Minor Footballers suffered their first defeat of the season when they travelled to Cork on Patrick’s day last. Mallow playing against the strong wind started slowly and the signs looked ominous early on, Douglas were in total control and only for the heroics of our goalkeeper Padraigh Buckley would have been out of sight at half time as it was the score at the short whistle was 0-11 to 0-3.Mallow gave a much improved performance in the second half and with two goals from Arron Sheehan and a powerful performance from Ryan Harkin trailed by two points with five minutes remaining. Mallow tried hard to get to parity but it was Douglas who scored late on to secure victory.

Premier U13 Football
Its not often that a team scores 1-18 in a football match and loses but that’s what happened in Carrigoon on Monday last. Our boys put up a great performance and the concession of goals at crucial stages was their down fall. Mallow playing fantastic football led at half time on a score line of 1-14 to 4 goals.Carrigaline fought back well to force level with 10 minutes remaining. The game was now up for grabs but it was the visitors who scored a late goal to secure victory. It has to be noted that these boys are playing at the top level in the county and are more than holding their own.

U14 Feile Football
The big game of the weekend is the Feile Football when the U14 team will travel to Clonakilty on Sunday next with a 2pm throw in. This is a wonderful competition and we are after Final and semi final appearances over the last number of years and hopes are high for a good run again this year.
