Mallow GAA

A huge thanks to our football and Hurling sponsors Maureen’s Pub , Mallow and O’Briens Ford, Mallow for their continued support…
Our Intermediate footballers got their league campaign and championship preparations back on track with a comprehensive win over Na Piarsaigh last Sunday in Carrigoon. With only three points separating the sides at half time 0-9 to 1-6 to Mallow, our boys managed to find another gear in the second half to run out comfortably on a score line of 1-18 to 1-8. Mallow will now, no doubt, concentrate on their first round Championship tie with Grenagh on the 11th May and best of luck to all concerned in their preparations! They play Clonmel in a friendly this Sunday in Carrigoon at 12 noon and the Saturday after they play Rathmore away to Rathmore at 7pm. After that they are almost into Championship week…

Our Hurlers are also knee deep in preparations for their opening Championship game against Ballyhea in May and they have a challenge game against the always competitive Castlelyons on Friday evening 25th at 8pm away..

We also have two other fixtures this week in the Junior Football league Mallow V Charleville on Friday night in Mallow at 8pm and Junior Hurling league against Charleville again, on Monday night 28th at 730pm again in Mallow. There’s no let up!!!

Our Club Lotto is currently at the very attractive jackpot of €8,800 and we encourage everyone to get themselves a ticket or two to be in the reckoning! The lads are also looking for sellers all the time so there’s surely some of ye out there who would sell a book at work or at home??? Tickets are also currently on sale behind the bar in the club house. If you’re not in you can’t win!!

Best of luck to everyone taking part in this years Club Charity Cycle on Saturday 26th April next, under the leadership of Kieran Mills, with as many as 50 cyclists taking part.  Proceeds this year will be going to the Day Care Centre and two other charities.
Congratulations to Ronan Sheehan on pulling off another great Family fun 10k Cycle from the club as part of the Racing home for Easter festival last Monday morning. Over 80 enthusiastic cyclists turned up on the day and did the cycle with gusto to which they rewarded with their special and unique Mallow GAA Certificate of achievement. Well done to Ronan for keeping this going single handedly and well done to everyone who took part especially the members of An Garda Siochana without whom this event couldn’t happen..
