Happy 2013 everyone, well after a long winter we are back in action again. As always our teams have been slogging it out in the conditions since early January and are, at the moment, getting ready for League action. Our Footballers, as always, are out first in the Division 3 League provisionally next Sunday 17th Feb against Macroom with a time and venue yet to be confirmed. A couple of weeks ago it was confirmed that Co. Antrim footballer James Loughrey would be transferring to Mallow for the foreseeable future and this news has brought a huge boost to the club and team. So if you see James around make sure you offer him the warmest of welcomes and maybe a chance to buy a lotto ticket!!!!!!

Our Junior Footballers were to commence their league campaign this weekend but it has been postponed till next weekend for the 17th or 18th but I will confirm nearer the time.
Our Intermediate Hurlers still have some time to prepare and their first League game in Division 2 against Fermoy is fixed provisionally for the 10th March. Everything is going great at the moment under the management of Liam Hayes so by March they should be primed and ready to go.
Following the live Avondhu GAA draw on Wednesday night in the club we now have the Championship ties for all our teams:
Premier Intermediate Football Mallow V Nemo Rangers
Premier Intermediate Hurling Mallow V Tracton
Junior A Football Championship Mallow V Kilworth
Junior A Hurling Championship Mallow V Doneraile
U-21 Football Championship Mallow V Fermoy
U-21 Hurling Championship Mallow V losers of Kilworth/Fermoy
So plenty of action for us this year and I think its going to be a good year for the club. I would just urge that everyone try and support the lads whenever they can be it league or Championship lets make an honest drive this year behind them all.
I’m delighted to announce that our former Chairman Bart has been chosen as this years Mallow Sports and Leisure awards nominee from the club. A very well deserved nomination for all his hard work in the last number of years and for putting up with all of us. Best of luck to Bart and his family and we’re sure he’ll have no bother taking home the bit of crystal.
Our Club Lotto has increased a little bit but we still need more sellers and of course buyers. You know what to do!!!!
I received this from Barry-John Ryan in the club I normally don’t circulate these things but this seems like a very good offer. Give a look over it and Barry’s Email is below if you have any questions..
Best of luck for the year to everyone…
