Juvenile Club Notes

A new year for our teams get underway this weekend with 4 of our football teams in action. Under the new system that is in place we will no longer take part in north cork competitions ,instead we are placed in a central group called premier 1 which includes teams from the city and other large towns ,the standard of teams is certain to be very high and we look forward to the year ahead with great anticipation.

Unlike other years when we traveled every weekend to the city to play our matches teams will be at home every second weekend this will afford people in mallow the opportunity of watching top class games in carrigoon as well halving the travelling time undertaken by our our outstanding parents who were never found wanting when we had to get teams to the city, these matches will be advertised in this paper on a weekly basis.

The club held its medal presentation last sunday and this was a great success, Cork senior footballer Aidan Walsh was on hand to present the medals and the club would like to thank Aidan for his time and willingness to pose for photos with all present.

Our under 16 footballers will commence outdoor training this friday at 5.30 pm. The following morning a number of this squad will be in action in an u16 hurling challenge between avondhu and na pairsaigh in carrigoon at 11.30 am.
