Intermediate Hurlers go into battle this weekend…

Premier Intermediate Hurling, 1st Round Championship, Mallow V Carrigaline this Sunday 29th at 7pm in Pairc Ui Rinn.. The final touches and preparations for next Sundays Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship are underway this week and word from the Mallow Hurling camp is that everything seems to be going well besides one or two slight injury worries, which they hope will be resolved come the weekend. Mallow have had a fantastic Division 1 League campaign thus fair and are currently top of said League. Should every thing go right on the day, one would imagine, Mallow would have the edge on Carrigaline and we would like to wish Joe Buckley, Dermot O’Riordan, Ray Cosgrove and their back room team the very best on the day.. Mallow edge out Blarney to go top of Division 1 Intermediate Hurling League.
As previously stated Mallow had a very competitive run out against Blarney, last Thursday, in their last game before this weeks Championship outing and a very fine win it was too that now see’s them top of their League. Having drawn against Meelin back in February they have gone on to beat some fine teams in Tracton, Inniscarra, Courcey Rovers and Charleville and along with Ballinhassig are the only teams in Division 1 not to lose a game, at this juncture. Blarney pushed Mallow right to the final whistle but it was only a flurry of late points that put some gloss on the scoreboard with Mallow on top for long periods. The final score was Mallow 2-15 Blarney 0-14. Good luck on Sunday lads!!!
